Finally, the wait is over.
even though i've already gotten my feet wet before the album was officially released, i made the trip to Best Buy to purchase a copy of one of the most anticipated albums this year, Rated R. the latest release from my wife. i mean, Rihanna. [though walmart has everything in the freakin world, i do not suggest buying your CDs there. they only carry the amended versions. so, unless you want the clean version.. go to a best buy, f.y.e. wherever.] but anyway... OMG. i am so in love with this album. i bet you're thinking "oh, he loves rihanna of course he loves the album" but.. thats not entirely true. you can't love everything a person does. of the thirteen tracks, i'd say i have listened to about 4 on repeat. lol. i even love the intro, "Mad House." it has a kind of "Thriller" vibe, and it kind of sets the tone for the album. the basic concept of the album is somewhat dark and cynical. She requested songs with somber vibe, but not just dark for the sake of being dark; she wanted dark songs that had some kind of meaning. Rihanna collaborated with a grip of decorated song-writers and producers on the album, including Chuck Harmony, The-Dream, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Chase & Status, Stargate, Demo, and Justin Timberlake. this album has already spawned a few hits; "Russian Roulette", the first single, was released on November 3, 2009, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number one-hundred, and peaked at number 9 - giving Rihanna her twelfth top 10 single of her career. "Wait Your Turn", was sent to radio as the second UK and European single on November 7, 2009. It will be physically released in 2010. "Hard", the second US single. the song features Young Jeezy, and was sent to Hot 97 by Def Jam. It reached number 20 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs without physically being released. a few of my absolute favorites from the album are: mad house, rockstar 101, rude boy, photographs, and G4L. in the beginning, i had a hard time connecting with the songs "Stupid in Love and "Fire Bomb" mainly because they seemed for people who were in love or something.. but after a few more listens it hit me. and now i OFFICIALLY like the whole album. lol. if you haven't picked up a copy, you are crazy. this is definitely a must have. make sure that even if you downloaded the album already, you still buy an album.. i mean... how can you sleep at night?? you animal! lmao.

wow! lady gaga looks so different at some parts. nice to see a beautiful, refined Gaga for a minute, but we got to see GAGA as well. i love this video. i've only watched it twice (so far), but i can tell that fans are gonna eat this sht up! i think the video really picked up during the second half. the outfits, the looks, everything just got even better. i look forward to seeing Gaga promoting this video. before you read this... watch the video.
or at least listen to the song. if you are from NY, you will most likely love this song (well i know i do. lol.) with a few bars from B.I.G and this crazy beat, this makes the song a quick favorite for a brooklyn kid like me. now before i begin.. i'm gonna go ahead and state the obvious: the verses sound about 87% 808s and Heartbreak. anyway tho, i'm in love with this song. you should know about (or atleast have heard about) Dirty Money, unless you don't have internet or something. Dirty Money is a group formed by Diddy, which, consists of himself, Dawn Richards (to be known from this point as: Neon), and Kalenna aka Flux. now.. for anybody that knows me personally, you would know that Dawn is my mistress. yep, runner-up, right after Rihanna. I'm not going to go into detail about Neon, because everybody who has watched MTV (which Diddy must own by now) within the past 5-6 years should know by now who she is and why she's the only one that didn't get her contract ripped up. but Kalenna, or Flux as she is referred to when speaking of Dirty Money, is the other girl in that pic over there.. yea, the one in the Lou's (who-wee!). idk that much about her, but she must be doing something behind the scenes to end up in such a group. (y'all nasty! she ain't fckn him or nothin. lmao.) my guess is that she has been in Diddy's camp for a while as either a writer or someone who does good harmonies and is great for backup vocals. eh, idk, but she's alright with me for now. Diddy's latest release "Angels" is the second single to be leaked from the upcoming album Last Train to Paris which, according to his official myspace, is set to be released: September 22, 2009 (my bday is 9/25.. birthday gift? :]). this song is a good way to show the variety that you will get with this album. most people were thinking the album would be a bunch of crazy, pop, electrofunk -ness, but this shows that there will be something for everyone. i think this single also shows how diddy could utilize autotune to his advantage by not trying to OD with his "vocals" and even though he is not a singer, it sounds very good. i was impressed when i was watching his show on MTV and they showed him in the studio recording this song. so far my iTunes says i've played the song 23 times already. thats almost at the amount of plays the previous single "Love Come Down" has. this track shows that crazy, pop, electrofunk -ness but in a good way. i'm pleased, and i can't wait to get the CD.

mary is back (again), and i've been blastin this song everytime i heard it, even on that AT&T commercial. its just that hot. this is good for all audiences; my mom loves it because... well its MJB, we teens or younger folk feelin it because its... well MJB, with a lil drake on the side. lol. i love this video because its simple, but it seems like there is a lot that went into it. Mary shows off some of her dance moves; which we haven't seen since Family Affair. she looks damn good in this video and i love her with short hair (not that that little braided, wrap, thing isn't nice too..). this is definitely one of the top 5 MJB videos. This single is off of her latest album, "Stronger" set to be released November 24, 2009 (mark your damn calenders!) how you feel about it?

these are my three favorite items from their collection. its all dope, but these are definitely a few of the more versatile pieces. i like the striped sweatshirt the most just because its simple and you could wear that with nearly anything. the white detailed shirt would be way better than some boring polo. and no need to explain those dip-dyed jeans. i'd cop these three items before anything else.

what is the problem? why are all of these beautiful woman "shaving" they heads (considering most of them have just takin out some tracks, and been bald all along)? don't get me wrong, i'm sure this all started at Amber Rose's house as some kind of female empowerment thing where she shaves her head to show that she's not conforming to the MAN's idea of beauty. and i think that AMBER ROSE looks banginn, no doubt.. then, Cassie decided to hop on. now.. i don't really agree with what she did because it looks like she was doing the Britney Spears thing but changed her mind. i think she should just go all the way. i think that Cassie is the only one out there who actually needs to SHAVE IT OFF. she would look a lot edgier and less... Me & U-ish (but that is still my jam tho!). then, there was La-La... (she's a pedestrian so let's just skip her). um... Carmen Electra was next.. that sht looks horrible on her. THEN! my beloved Rihanna. mm mm mm, now let me say this. i'm gonna love her no matter what, but i'm not the biggest fan of the cut. i've been in love with her hairstyles ever since she got that bang to hide her big ass forehead.. but at the same time.. instead of shaving one side, she did both and the back so it like some weird variation of a high-top fade. watevvv, at least it won't look bad when it starts growing back in.. *shrug. and that brings is to Solange. NO, NO, HELL NO, and NO. all she did was take off a wig and reveal that she's been bald all this time. she was just waiting for the right moment to showcase it. i just don't know why this is spreading so fast. i can GUARANTEE some of these lil girls that are running around here with their daddys' clippers are gonna regret falling victim to this trend when its time to get a new weave and sht is all disproportioned. please... if you still have all of your hair (or all of your weave for that matter) don't fall into this trend. please.

idk what happened.. i think somebody ninja'd they way into my blog and posted that last blog. crazyness.

it seems like i'm in a state of "Re-neg-eration" (don't judge me because i didn't pay attn. in my LIT classes. lol). that's right, i'm changing my mind.. i'm an Indian-giver. lol. yesterday i posted the previous blog and i was completely trashing the Spizike Boots, set to release in the winter.. but i have to go back on my word because they could end up in my collection (NOT the brown or the all black ones tho. the "ew" still stands on those). i was browsing one of my favorite online sites, ASOS.com (thank you Dalvin for telling me about this site.. its been like a year almost. lol. and if you not up on the site you need to get up ownn it.), when i saw the shirt. its really simple, but effective i guess. the white collar is definitely the dopest thing about it (please scrub your necks before wearing it. lmao.). then i saw jacket and its kinda cool, but i already bought a jacket from the site like last month and its black so its basically the same. but then i noticed the all of these things could go with the shoes kinda and i was just like... hmm, i guess i could do something with these. idc.. i'm still on the fence with them..

and about the website, ASOS.com... they're one hell of a site. they have just about everything. MEN and WOMEN'S clothing. i encourage you to put your plastic to work. i've ordered from the site a couple times and all was well. the best thing is that the prices are great. ESPECIALLY THEIR SALES! this is Beyonce's (or Sasha's... woot! catfight.) new video for one of the hottest tracks from the album, Sweet Dreams. I'm really impressed with this video release, and was hoping it would be 100% different from the others. but i am very happy to see the lightskin chick from the Single Ladies video, Anastasia Vertrais (she's kinda banginnn). When i watched the video on MTV this morning [revised - 7/9/09] i was juiced. it's really dope. after seeing the concert footage i was thinkin there was gonna be some leopard and stuff. but this will do. i saw the 2min clip from the making of the video and it showed some potential. i'm excited. i really like the other videos, mainly "Single Ladies" and "Diva" and i think this one will be one of my favorites. i like the song and it was one of the main ones i listened to when i bought the CD (yea, i BOUGHT the cd. i like Beyonce's music.. and i have alot of respect for music in general, that is why i don't download all of my music; though, i should have downloaded T. Pain's weak sht. smh, suckyyy music.). but, anyway. make sure you tune in, or youtube it or something. i'm sure its gonna be one of the best videos of 09. one for each season i guess. lol. and leave comments after watchin the preview and tell me what you think the video is gonna be like.

This ain't some ordinary mixtape niggas pass out at the mall. or some weak demo they try to give to rappers. this sht is official. my bruddda Dino is the truth. I have to say i'm impressed. i can very rarely say that i listened to a whole cd or album or mixtape without skipping a track. this 26 track mixtape is full of artist cameos and hot verses. some of the greatest punchlines i've heard. the best thing about "The Boy Next Door" is that it doesn't sound like an amateur mixtape. it's good quality and produced well. the beats are banginn. the boy Dinoo Supreemo is original.

after a few minutes of talking about how freaky dakota fanning is, the interview began.

in all honesty .. california didn't really influence me or my rapping style . east coast 90's hip hop truly influenced me to rap . BIG , Jay , Nas , Foxy Brown .. that whole era . i started getting into the older rap when i was about 15 .. and it made me just pick up a pen , like i can do it too !

that's cool. alot of cali rappers don't like admitting they were more influenced by the east coast. so, are your more of a writer or a freestyler?

im definetly a writer . but if i freestyle , it's because it's free , and im stylin' on niggas . hahahah

haha. that's the best reason. what things or people inspired you to persue a career in the music industry?

before i was even a rapper , Michael Jackson made me just wanna be a superstar . i didn't know WHAT i wanted to do , but i knew i wanted to make people love me like they do him . but rapping .. Bow Wow , The Game , & Foxy Brown . and a lot of niggas don't give female rappers respect , but i pay it when it's due . straight up .

i feel you, there has been a need for more female MCs. how do you feel about the few of them who are out today?

the only female rapper that's in the limelight today that i respect IS nicki minaj . other than the fact that she has BARS .. i can actually see her drive and determination to be sucessful . and i believe she's gonna blow up sooner than expected .

honestly , i don't have a favorite entertainer . everybody that i look up to , i take something from that . so i can't pin point one person and just say that he/she is number one . but he's definetly up there .

i could see them all on my ipod, but hands down Magnetic is slap worthy. i'll blast it right now. lol.

LOL well thanks . & it's crazy because i wrote that in my car , in front of my house when i just turned 18 ! (i'll be 20 next month). and another thing that a lot of people don't know is that TBND [The Boy Next Door] took me damn near 2 years to finish . because it was titled something else before that , but i didn't feel like it was ready yet .

what do you think was the reason it took so long for the mixtape to be up par?

well , im a perfectionist . and trust me .. if you heard a lot of the tracks that i did beforehand .. you'd probably ask me what the hell was i thinking . hahahah . naah but , it was all about the right beats and what fit the title . because this was me telling the world , " listen to me , i can fuckin rap ! "

i shop around most of the time . and i like to get on shit people never heard before , or beats that could just take people back to a different era in music . i really just wanna school the younger kids on what music was , and what it's gonna be. like did you know "Magnetic" is a Foxy Brown beat from 2003 ?

YEA. i thought it was. lol. but i see you spit on the old school Biggie beat, "Juicy". i was impressed. usually it can come off a little wack when somebody tries to revive the past.

that's what im usually afraid of . i did the " Kick in the Door " instrumental from Life After Death, too , but i didn't feel like it was up to par to make the final tracklisting lol . and i wrote " Juicy " when i was 18 too . lol

not quite , because when you hear what i've been cooking up for the next tape , you'll see what this is really all about LOL . but there are about 5 or 6 tracks that i did when i was 18 that made the mixtape .

Man.. the crew was at the spot yesterday and we decided to make it Throwback Movie Day. i wonder why we chose today.. maybe it's because we all wanted to see transformers but it was sold OUT! smfh. but we turned things around by watching some classic hood movies. you know.. Boyz N The Hood, Menace II Society, a couple Spike Lee Joints. Good 'ol hood movies aka the best movies everrr. the homie's and homegirls' was rollin. but we was feelin sad when Caine got shot at the end. i was like... "Stay up caaine! don't dieee" lmao.

these are some of the movies. i feel like you can't be a black person if you haven't seen these movies. lol. but these are some of the best movies ever made. i could watch these everyday. :)

Rihanna and Chris brown are in the news, yet again. This time Rihanna was subpoenaed to testify in court against CB. I say he got off easy.. and i usually hate it and feel its discriminating when a judge decides to "make an example" out of a celebrity by throwing the book at them, BUT this is the one time i wouldn't have even blinked if it had happened. If you knew me like my friends do you would know that i am an OD Rihanna fan and i only liked CB because he was with her. but now its just like: "..." -crickets.

there is only limited footage from the hearing because cameras weren't allowed during the testimonies but, as you see in the video, (via E! Online) you are able to hear the sentencing (which was fckn wigggggidy) and all the info about the restraining order. Rihanna looks banginn from the neck up. i wanna see what she was wearing. lol.

Cheapskate: Discounted Levi's - I had to have em.

yup, and i didn't even care why they were so cheap. they might've been on clearance, called back.. or covered in swine but they seemed like things i need to have.

first, a pair of Levi's 501 Acid Washed Straight Leg Jeans. They are one of my favorite pairs of Levi's i have, but the have this button-fly that sucks if your in a hurry.. but they were $23.45 at a Macy's in this mall somewhere. yes, twenty-three dollars, forty-five cents.

second, a pair of Levi's 510: Super Skinny Acid Wash Jeans. OMG. i think i would've thrown my self out of a moving car if i didn't get these. i bought them for $35 roses at Urban Outfitters while they were doing that whole $10 off Levi's sale. they are so awesome and 10 bucks might not seem like alot but.. when it come's to clothes, it means the world.

and last, just a pair of Levi's 527 Low Boot-Cut jeans. they're a cool light blue cool for the summer. if you don't really wanna wear shorts. and get this............ $9.72. nine motherforking dollars and seventy-two pieces of cents. nuff said, it was a done deal.. you can always use more jeans.

this is one of the many times i'll ask for your beautiful opinion (repeat that sentence with obvious sarcasm..). lately i've been thinking i should get my lip pierced. i took few of pics with these temporary ones i got.. but i'm not sure if i should do it. i'm about 75% on-board with the idea. but i need to make up my mind. lol. i haven't even mentioned the word "lips" to my mom. i know she's gonna just be like "No." and walk off. but i'm really thinking about getting them done. a lot of people said i should just get one.. but i think i'm gonna get two. mainly because if i just get one and decide to go back and get the other one, i'm gonna have to pay all over again, so i'll just get 'em both. lol. i'll just take one out if i change my mind. smh.
